How has Beating Eating Disorders helped you?
It has given me something to look forward to with recovery, given me self affirming advice and quotes and good things to think about when I’m thinking about doing something negative
Where are you in your recovery journey?
Relapsed, but still trying to get healthy
What are your future recovery orientated goals?
To be able to not have “rules” about food, be able to look forward to meal-oriented holidays with my family.
What is the most helpful thing someone has said to you? What has been the most harmful?
Helpful: “you won’t heal by going back to what hurt you.”
Harmful: complimenting my body at my lowest weight, any mention of anyones eating habits, ed blogs who claim to be pro-recovery, but post ‘ana tips’ etc.
Share some of your recovery insight.
Recovery doesn’t happen all at once. Recovery isn’t linear. Recovery is scary at first, but it gets easier. Your recovery looks different than someone else’s recovery.
